About Us
The Afron brand was originally founded in Israel in 1966. Since then, thousands of their products have been sold around the world, including the original HA series “cherry picker” or Elevated Work Platform (EWP) in Australia. Over time, Afron became its own trademark in Australia due to the constant delays in shipping times and the everchanging Australian Standards.
In 2014, the Australian trademarks for the Afron brand were purchased by Quinto Ag Supplies, a family-owned and operated company with extensive knowledge about farming as a whole and the harsh Australian landscape. Company Founder Elio Quintieri was born and raised on a farm just outside of Mareeba in Queensland's Far North, and while the farm originally started with Tobacco, it eventually came to grow Lychees and a variety of other crops, to which it still does today.
In 2000, Elio started Quinto Motors, a used car dealership in Tolga before becoming a sales representative with North Queensland Agricultural Supplies (NQAS) in 2005, selling various farm machinery implements which then expanded to include the Lyco brand of cherrypickers/MEWP’s. In 2009, Elio began working for QMAC Machinery, where he continued selling farm machinery and implements including Afron Cherry Pickers, before eventually buying the Afron business & trademarks, and moving into full-time production of the commonly known PA series cherrypickers/MEWP's.
Why Afron?
Every Afron PA series machine has and always will be built in Australia to tackle what Australia has to throw at them whilst still meeting Australian Standards. Hundreds if not thousands of machines (including some of the original HA series machines from Israel which the Australian PA series were originally based off) are operating throughout Australia today. The Afron PA series is backed by over 40 years of practical experience, being field proven technically and economically, and manufactured from the highest quality components and materials for dependability and ease of service.
The design is continually being improved with thought from both technical and operational points of view, and this is helped by regular contact with existing owners to ensure that all improvements are considered and, in most instances, implemented. Combine this with a choice of Petrol or Diesel Engines which provide excellent fuel economy, low noise levels and easy maintenance, plus a unique enclosed hydraulic system featuring quality hydraulic hoses and components which in turn offers clean lines & a low cost of ownership, and you are bound to have an unbeatable combination with a massive gain in productivity!
